Our Story
Faithful Since the Beginning
EGMC was founded by a small group of believers who gathered in a living room with a shared conviction: that the local church is God's plan for the world. From those humble beginnings, our congregation has grown into a community of families, individuals, and generations who have worshipped, served, and walked through life together.
Decades later, that same spirit of faithfulness and welcome still defines who we are. We are not a perfect church — but we are a church that loves God, loves one another, and is committed to growing in both.
What We Believe
Grounded in Scripture
Our beliefs are rooted in the historic Christian faith as revealed in the Bible. We hold to the essentials of the gospel while extending grace in areas where sincere believers may differ.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God — the foundation for all faith and practice.
The Trinity
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone — a free gift received, not earned.
The Church
We believe the local church is the body of Christ, called to worship, disciple, and serve the world in His name.
Resurrection
We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ and the promise of eternal life for all who trust in Him.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer, empowering a life of holiness, service, and witness.

Pastor James Whitfield
Senior Pastor
Pastor James has served EGMC for over fifteen years. He is passionate about expository preaching and helping people encounter God through scripture. He and his wife Sarah have three children and are deeply rooted in this community.
Pastor David Okafor
Associate Pastor
Pastor David leads our discipleship and small groups ministry. He has a heart for helping believers grow in their faith and find meaningful community within the church.
Rachel Simmons
Director of Children's Ministry
Rachel oversees all children's programming at EGMC, from nursery through fifth grade. She is dedicated to laying a strong biblical foundation in the lives of our youngest members.
